Andelslandbruket

Would you love to have your own vegetable garden but lack space, time, or knowledge? Do you care about food tasting great and being grown in an environmentally friendly way? Are you excited about learning more about farming and enjoy being around others?

If you live within a reasonable distance, you are warmly welcome to join as a shareholder farmer at Jøa!

A share can include as many family members and friends as you like, and everyone is welcome in the field.

Community in the field

Since 2015, between 40 and 100 people or families have gathered each season in the fields of Dun Gård to grow their own vegetables together with others. Everyone contributes at least 20 hours of volunteer work throughout the season, including planting, weeding, and harvesting.

From May to October, there are usually weekly volunteer sessions, offering plenty of opportunities to find days that fit your schedule. These sessions take place on both weekdays and weekends, depending on the weather and the needs of the fields.

All harvests from the shared fields are divided equally among the members. In most years, this means weekly harvests throughout the season, as well as access to potatoes and storage vegetables during the winter. We cultivate around 35 varieties of vegetables and potatoes.

The farmer and gardener at Dun Gård handle planning, soil preparation, and field supervision between volunteer sessions. They also announce the sessions on the farm’s website and Facebook page.

Everyone who participates receives abundant boxes of delicious, fresh vegetables straight from the field—nothing beats that!

All farming at Dun Gård is done organically.
