Matgarasjen

Large glass panes overlooking a well-maintained cultural landscape with grazing animals have transformed the former workshop garage into a unique little eatery – with food made from scratch. We primarily use our own ingredients, fish from the sea, wild game from the forest, and other local products. Fully licensed with our own sommelier for special occasions.

At Dun Gard, we've fulfilled the dream of bringing the finest ingredients from farm to table at our restaurant, Matgarasjen.

Large glass panes provide views of the well-kept cultural landscape and grazing animals, making the former workshop garage a unique dining spot – with food prepared from scratch. We mostly use our own produce, including fish from the sea and game from the forest, along with other local products.

We produce meat of exquisite quality, from breeds known for their marbling and taste, such as Sia Trønder, Angus, and Wagyu, all grass-fed and organic. More than 30 different types of vegetables and a variety of herbs are used in our cooking and are available for purchase in our 24-hour, self-service farm shop, along with our meat and products from other skilled local food producers.

Opening Hours

From June 6th, open Thursday to Sunday 13:00 – 17:00

Matgarasjen is open during announced hours, and group reservations are also possible.
