A good person is better than anything else good. –Olav Duun
Accommodation
We welcome you to stay on Jøa. The sunset to the west can be absolutely fantastic from Fosnes Præstegaard, and at Dun Feriehus, you are close to the island’s agriculture. You can almost glimpse America in the distance over the outermost islands. Perhaps you’d like to go sea fishing?
Shopping and leisure
On Jøa, we believe that shopping and leisure go hand in hand. If you need the essentials, you’ll meet friendly people at both Alltimat 24 Sju and Nærbutikken. We also recommend checking out Seglloftet and the farm shop at Dun farm.
Food and drink
Enjoy good food and drink at Faksdal brygge og pøbb, Matgarasjen – Dun Farm, and Fjøsti. Our grocery stores are always open with self-service if you need something simple and tasty.
Experiences on Jøa
Jøa is an experience in itself, but sometimes our experience providers offer something extra exciting. Events can be found in our activity calendar, often taking place at Småbruksteateret, in Olav Duun’s childhood home, near the sea at Brakstad harbor, or at Jøa sports club.
Here’s what visitors say about their visit
Step by step to the top
The first step of Jøatrappa and traffic safety in focus. We are now beginning the steps of the staircase. In the photo, Tomas and Midaugas, who work for the company Tresteg AS, are installing the first steps of Jøatrappa.
